Reading sign midfielder Earthy from West Ham

George Earthy made five first-team appearances for West Ham [Getty Images] Reading have signed West Ham United midfielder George Earthy for an undisclosed fee. The 21-year-old has signed a three-year deal at the SCL Stadium and is the Royals' fifth addition of the summer transfer window. Earthy is a product of the east London club's academy and went on loan to Bristol City on two occasions, in 2024 and for part of last season. He made five first-team appearances for West Ham and, during his time at the Robins, played 51 times, scoring three goals. "We're really pleased to bring George to the club," Royals boss Leam Richardson told the club website . "He's a talented young player who already has some very good experience under his belt, both in the Championship and at Premier League level. "He's technically very good, he's creative and he gives us another real attacking threat. He wants to get on the ball and make things happen and we're excited to be working with him. "We've already got a group with great character and attitude and George will fit into that really well.
