Manchester City find Koné interesting after Manchester United pursuit There are reports in England that Roma midfielder Manu Koné could become a target for Manchester City, after Manchester United were turned off by the €60m asking price. It had seemed all summer as if Koné would be on his way out after seeing his value sky-rocket thanks to fine performances both in Serie A for the Giallorossi and for France at the 2026 World Cup. He was the breakout star of Les Bleus in that tournament, so the €50m asking price went up to at least €60m. However, Mail Sport claim today that Manchester City have turned the spotlight back on Koné for a potential swoop after selling Tijjani Reijnders to Al-Qadsiah for €61m. This comes just a year after spending €55m plus €14m in add-ons to buy Reijnders from Milan. Roma know that they need sales to fund other transfer activity, in areas where they are more lacking in alternatives.
