Deco confirms Barcelona are not done in the transfer market: ‘We are going to make a move’ Barcelona are still active in the transfer market, and sporting director Deco has made it clear that the club’s summer business may not be over just yet. The Catalan giants have already made headlines with their recruitment, including the arrival of Rodri .  However, the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres have left Deco and the Barcelona sporting department with very different problems to solve. While the club believe they have enough options to deal with Ferran’s exit, replacing a striker of Lewandowski’s level is another matter altogether. Deco did not hide the scale of the challenge when discussing Barcelona’s transfer plans. “We’ve lost two players up front, Lewandowski and Ferran.  “I think we can find solutions for Ferran with the signings we’ve made. Robert’s situation is much more difficult; it’s very hard to replace a player like him,” explained Deco. Deco did not name a specific target, but he did confirm that work is continuing behind the scenes. “There’s a lot of speculation, but we’re going to make a move,” he said. Furthermore, when asked directly about the possibility of bringing in another forward, Deco suggested that Barcelona could use players already available to them.  At the same time, he made it clear that the sporting department is not closing the door on a new signing. “We have options within the squad, but we have to keep looking,” said the Barça executive. Rodri signing shows Barcelona are ready to react Deco also addressed Barcelona’s decision to sign Rodri, admitting that the midfielder was not originally part of the club’s transfer plans. However, the situation changed once Barcelona saw a genuine opportunity to bring him in. Explaining the thinking behind the deal, Deco said, “We’re pleased. Before signing him, we talked and discussed it at length.  “At first it wasn’t part of our plans, but we saw that it was an opportunity. He’ll improve the team considerably.” Deco also rejected the idea that Barcelona signed Rodri simply because of Real Madrid’s interest in the player. “We haven’t snatched him from Madrid,” he concluded.
