Manchester United target Lewis Hall in talks with Newcastle over new contract Manchester United have been linked with an interest in Newcastle United star Lewis Hall.  But it appears the young left-back is going nowhere this summer.  According to journalist Sam C , Hall is in talks with Newcastle over a new contract.  His current deal at St James’ Park will not expire until 2029, but the Tyneside club are keen to tie him down to a new and improved contract.  Hall has also been offered a role within the leadership team under new head coach Matthias Jaissle.  This comes as a blow for Man United, who view the 21-year-old as the ideal long-term replacement for Luke Shaw.  The Red Devils mainly focused on bolstering their midfield following Casemiro’s departure and Manuel Ugarte’s serious injury at the World Cup.  Signing a top left-back has also been a priority for the club’s chiefs.  Tyrell Malacia has left on a free transfer, and Patrick Dorgu is expected to continue in a more attacking role.  Shaw was impressive last campaign, but he needs someone to share the workload in 2026-27.  Hall has been a consistent performer for Newcastle since joining the club in 2023. He has made 102 appearances across all competitions, weighing in with 10 goal contributions.  The Magpies have lost Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes this summer.
