The 27-year-old, who recently signed a new three-year contract , picked up the injury during the second half of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Reading. Scans have revealed cruciate ligament damage, and he has since had surgery. Manager Andy Woodman explained: "Ashley has sadly snapped his cruciate and has done some other damage in his knee. "He's had an operation and I don't think we'll be seeing him again this season which is a real blow for not only Ashley, but for us too. "We've been very supportive of Ashley and we wish him well and hopefully he'll be back before next season - that would be a bonus. "However, with that sort of injury, we know it's going to be about a year." Charles joined the Ravens from Wealdstone in February 2024, having started his career at Watford. He was a near ever-present in League Two last season, playing 45 times as Bromley were promoted as champions. Charles was voted the club's joint-players' player and the chairman's player of the season. All the latest Bromley news
