Brighton reject Liverpool’s £50m offer for winger Yankuba Minteh

Brighton reject Liverpool’s £50m offer for winger Yankuba Minteh Brighton & Hove Albion have rejected Liverpool’s £50 million offer for Yankuba Minteh, according to The Athletic . Liverpool are prioritising strengthening their wide areas this summer following Mohamed Salah’s departure, but have signed only Victor Munoz from Osasuna thus far. They are interested in Paris Saint-Germain duo Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, but are reluctant to pay their asking prices. The Athletic claim that the Merseyside giants are now considering Minteh as one of their wide options. The Gambia international is said to be keen on joining the Reds if they can reach an agreement with Brighton. Minteh suffered a leg injury earlier this month and has undergone surgery. He is expected to be sidelined for eight weeks. The 22-year-old joined Brighton from Newcastle United in 2024. He has featured in 73 games across all competitions, registering 10 goals and nine assists. Minteh is known for his speed, a quality Liverpool are looking to add to their attack. “He has got the most important trait for an attacking player in football, and that is speed,” Gambia coach Johnathan McKinstry said . The Gambian forward is an excellent dribbler. Only three players completed more dribbles per game in the Premier League than he did last season. Minteh is also a good ball-carrier and works aggressively out of possession, making him an ideal fit for Andoni Iraola’s style. However, his end product is inconsistent. He has scored just nine goals in 66 league games since joining the Seagulls. Brighton could be open to letting Minteh leave after signing Zadok Yohanna , but would only sanction a deal at the right price.
