Barcelona agree personal terms with Julian Alvarez alternative; deal still difficult – report Barcelona’s search for a new striker appears to have taken an important step forward, with the Catalan giants reportedly reaching an agreement with Lautaro Martinez over personal terms. The problem, however, is that agreeing terms with the player is only one part of the equation. As reported before, Barcelona have not yet made an offer to Inter Milan, and the Serie A side is not currently expecting one.  More significantly, Inter are said to have no interest in opening talks for their captain, creating a major obstacle in any potential Lautaro Martinez transfer. With Julian Alvarez increasingly difficult to sign, Barcelona have been forced to look at other options, and Lautaro has emerged as one of the names being seriously considered. Alvarez had been viewed as an attractive option, but a move for the Argentine has reportedly become close to impossible.  That development has pushed Barcelona to consider alternatives, with Lautaro Martinez becoming a serious target . According to El Chiringuito TV , Barcelona sporting director Deco and Bojan Krkic met Lautaro’s representative in Madrid last week.  The report claims those talks resulted in an agreement with the player over personal terms. The financial conditions of a potential contract have already been discussed, meaning Barcelona could move on the player’s side if they ever manage to reach an agreement with Inter Milan. The Italian side has received no official Barcelona offer for Lautaro Martinez, and their position suggests they would not be interested in negotiating even if one arrived. Lautaro is not just another important player in the Inter squad; he is the club captain, a leader in the dressing room and one of their most reliable goalscorers. Inter also hold a strong position because the Argentine striker is tied to the club until 2029, meaning Barcelona would need to overcome both Inter’s resistance and what could be a substantial transfer fee. From the player’s perspective, Lautaro is excited by the possibility of playing for Barcelona, despite being happy in Milan and fully committed to his current role with Inter. But at this stage, there is still a huge difference between Barcelona agreeing terms with a player and Barcelona actually completing a deal.
