David and Fortini: Double Hull City transfer blow with official transfer for Italian defender There’s bad news from Italy for Hull City as Niccolò Fortini has officially joined Torino on loan with an option to buy, while Juventus’ Jonathan David has reportedly turned down an approach from the Premier League side. Versatile Italian full-back Fortini has joined Torino on loan with an option to buy from Fiorentina. The Granata confirmed the defender’s arrival on Friday. Official: Fortini joins Torino from Fiorentina It’s an initial loan deal from Fiorentina, which, according to TMW, is worth €500,000, and it also includes an option to buy for €9.5m. Fortini was also in talks with Premier League side Hull City, but, as previously reported by several Italian sources , the 20-year-old had decided to join Torino last week. Fortini’s contract with Fiorentina was due to expire in June 2027, pushing La Viola to extend his stay until 2030 before sending him on loan to Torino. The Turin-based paper claims that Juventus forward David has turned down an approach from the Premier League club as the Canada international aims to remain in Turin. David, however, doesn’t seem to be part of the Old Lady’s plans as the Serie A giants hope to sell the Canadian after just one season and replace him with Joshua Zirkzee.
