Not Minteh: Liverpool's interest in phenomenal £55m forward is leaked

Not Minteh: Liverpool's interest in phenomenal £55m forward is leaked Liverpool’s chase for a new right winger has been well documented. Ever since Mohamed Salah left the club at the end of June speculation has mounted that Andoni Iraola would be signing a new option for the right side of the attack. We’ve seen names like Ibrahim Mbaye and Yankuba Minteh linked and there is truth in both of those reports. Mbaye is well-liked by the 2024/25 Premier League champions although club sources maintain that no bid has been formalised for the Paris Saint-Germain teenager. Interest in Minteh has been firmed up however in the shape of an official bid. The Reds have had their opening offer for the 22-year-old Gambian knocked back - with reports putting that figure at around £50m. It remains to be seen whether or not either of these options lands at Anfield before the transfer window closes on September 1. Endrick's name is cropping up again There is though the possibility of sporting director Richard Hughes going after an alternative target. The name of Endrick has cropped up again this week - building on reports from earlier in the year which suggested the 20-year-old Brazilian was in the Merseysiders’ crosshairs. Endrick had a very good loan spell on loan at Lyon for the second half of the season and has returned to parent club Real Madrid with his future in doubt. Liverpool interested in Endrick claims Brazilian report Jose Mourinho is stacked in BOTH of the left-footer’s preferred positions - up front as a No9 and out wide on the right. Madrid will use Kylian Mbappe as their starting centre-forward with Carlos Espi now in reserve as backup. And Yan Diomande is now set to command a starting berth on the right following his big-money arrival from RB Leipzig. ESPN in Brazil is now claiming that Endrick - described as a phenomenon by Gabriel Jesus is the subject of interest from Anfield although the English club have not yet officially made a bid for his services. “Endrick has attracted interest from Liverpool,” the report reads. “No official offer has been made so far.” Endrick wants to stay at Real Madrid These reports are gathering momentum this week with claims that Liverpool have got Endrick on the list as a Salah replacement. Right now however the chances of the Brazil international moving to Merseyside look remote it has to be said. Because ESPN is claiming that his focus is on winning a place in Mourinho’s line-up rather than settling for a bit-part role once again at the Bernabeu. “Endrick is not considering leaving Real Madrid,” the report claims. That picture may well change as Mourinho’s plans become known over the opening games of the Spanish season. If Endrick comes to the realisation that he is set for another season on the bench then he may well be convinced to answer in the positive to another Liverpool approach. It’s been suggested that the Reds may get hold of Endrick for only £55m - which would be a bargain for a player of his quality and only £5m more than the offer which was sent Brighton’s way for Minteh.
