€20m is all Liverpool want for 'special' star

€20m is all Liverpool want for 'special' star Liverpool are going to be selling a fair few players from their first-team squad this summer. The Anfield outfit are in dire need of a rebuild with the form of their team massively lacking during the 2025-26 campaign. But, now that Andoni Iraola is in charge , fans will be expecting an upturn in form, especially since the Spaniard usually opts for an attacking style of football. However, for the former Bournemouth boss to be able to have any sort of impact on Liverpool's performance levels, he needs to be given a fair few new players so that they can remain competitive with their rivals. But, before anyone is brought in, the sales of some players need to be sanctioned so that the Reds can abide by the Premier League financial rules. And now, the Anfield outfit's asking price for one player has been shared. Liverpool only want €20 million for Federico Chiesa Liverpool's fanbase will know that their 1-1 draw against Brentford will be the last time that they see some of their players donning their kit. The futures of many players are under a magnifying glass and, without their sales, the Anfield outfit won't have enough funds to add new faces to their squad. Players such as Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott have both been linked with exits recently but, it's Federico Chiesa who's the talk of the town at the moment. The Italy international has had a minimal amount of playing time under Slot and, while that may change under Iraola, nothing is guaranteed which is why he's seeking a way out of L4. And now, as per a fresh report from Caught Offside , the Reds' asking price for their " special " attacker has been revealed. "Liverpool are open to letting Chiesa go after his relative lack of impact at Anfield, so a departure shouldn’t be too problematic, but of course the Reds won’t want to lose him on the cheap," they wrote. "Sources with a close understanding of the situation inform me that Liverpool will likely ask for around €20m to let Chiesa go, but it’s not yet clear if interested clubs will be prepared to pay that kind of money. “'Liverpool will be open to offers for Chiesa this summer,' one source said. 'There will be further talks between the club and the player in pre-season, but the expectation is that he’ll be informed that he can leave.'" Richard Hughes must figure out if Liverpool can afford to lose Federico Chiesa Chiesa has managed to become a bit of a cult-hero at Anfield during his short time with the club. The Italian has one of the best songs of any Liverpool player and, when called upon, he's often delivered. However, due to his lack of playing time, it's clear to see why he's seeking an exit but, with the amount of players that Liverpool need to buy, it's unclear whether they'll even be able to afford to let another attacker go. That is, especially since most of the wingers that the Reds are being linked with are left-wingers. Depending on how well he performs in pre-season, Iraola could call upon the 28-year-old to plug the gap left by Mohamed Salah and use Jeremie Frimpong as his back-up. Obviously, neither of these would be as effective at the Egyptian King but, if it means that they could upgrade other areas of their team instead, it could be a worthwhile sacrifice.
