Barcelona join Tottenham and Aston Villa in race for 19-goal Monaco striker – report Barcelona are continuing to explore options to strengthen their attack before the transfer deadline, and AS Monaco striker Folarin Balogun has now emerged as a name on the club’s radar. According to SPORT , Barcelona have recently shown interest in the American forward as they assess the different strikers available during the final stretch of the summer transfer window.  However, the Catalan giants are not alone in monitoring his situation, as Tottenham Hotspur have also been following Balogun for some time, while Aston Villa could also become more active as well. With the September 1 deadline approaching, Barcelona now have another attacking option to consider.  Balogun’s strong campaign for Monaco has put him in the spotlight, and the coming days could determine whether Barça’s interest develops into a serious transfer attempt. For Barcelona, the need to examine different attacking profiles has made Balogun an interesting option.  The club is still weighing up the names available and has yet to make a final decision on which striker they want to pursue. Balogun’s situation is quite interesting because Monaco are prepared to listen to offers for one of their key attacking players. The French club is not under immediate pressure to sell, though, as the forward remains contracted until 2028, giving Monaco a strong position in any negotiations. That could make a Barcelona transfer difficult if the Ligue 1 side decides to demand a significant fee for their striker.  Still, with interest expected to grow in the final days of the window, Monaco are aware that the right offer could change the situation. Tottenham have already been keeping an eye on Balogun’s situation and could decide to make their move if the conditions become favourable.  Furthermore, Aston Villa are another club to watch. Their situation could depend heavily on the future of Ollie Watkins. If the England international leaves for Al-Hilal, Villa could accelerate their search for a replacement, bringing Balogun firmly into the conversation. For now, Barcelona have the attraction of being one of the biggest clubs in Europe, but the financial side of any operation could prove decisive.  Monaco have no contractual need to sell, and Tottenham or Aston Villa may be in a stronger position to meet the French club’s demands. With the September 1 transfer deadline closing in, Barcelona will soon have to decide whether their interest is serious enough to become a concrete operation.
