Report: Liverpool make contact over move for Real Madrid star

Report: Liverpool make contact over move for Real Madrid star Liverpool Transfer News: Endrick Enquiry Reveals Reds’ Ambition Liverpool’s search for attacking reinforcements has taken another intriguing turn after the club made an enquiry over the availability of Real Madrid forward Endrick. Paul Joyce of The Times reports that Liverpool asked Real Madrid about the Brazilian, whose opportunities at the Bernabeu could become increasingly restricted following Yan Diomande’s £120million move to Spain. For Liverpool supporters, that detail may prove considerably more interesting than another rejected transfer bid. Endrick Emerges on Liverpool Radar According to Joyce, Liverpool “asked about the availability of Endrick”, with Diomande’s arrival potentially further limiting the Brazilian’s route into the Real Madrid starting XI. Real Madrid’s response, however, appears firm. Joyce reports that the Spanish giants “are not looking to let the Brazilian leave.” Even so, Liverpool making the enquiry is significant. Endrick remains one of the most highly regarded young attackers in European football. His combination of pace, aggression, movement and finishing ability would provide Andoni Iraola with another forward capable of operating centrally or across Liverpool’s attacking line. Photo: IMAGO Liverpool had previously pursued Diomande themselves, offering RB Leipzig a package worth £85.6million before the winger eventually completed his huge move to Madrid. That transfer may have indirectly created Liverpool’s opportunity to test Real’s position on Endrick. Minteh Bid Rejected by Brighton Liverpool’s most concrete move has been for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh. Joyce reports that Brighton have rejected a £50million bid for the 22 year old, who joined the club from Newcastle United for £30million in 2024. Minteh has recorded nine goals and eight assists across 66 Premier League appearances during his two seasons on the south coast. Liverpool must now decide whether to increase their offer. The winger is currently recovering from surgery following a leg injury suffered against Roma during pre season and is expected to remain unavailable for approximately two months. Joyce reports that Minteh is “believed to be keen on the move”, leaving Liverpool with encouragement should negotiations continue. Barcola Remains Liverpool Priority Bradley Barcola continues to sit prominently within Liverpool’s transfer plans. Paris Saint Germain initially valued the France international at £145million, with Liverpool and PSG remaining apart in their respective valuations. Liverpool ideally want Barcola alongside another winger, which explains their attempts to secure Minteh and their enquiry regarding Endrick. Victor Muñoz has already arrived from Osasuna for £34.5million and can operate on either flank, while Iraola also has Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Federico Chiesa available. The ambition appears clear. Liverpool want additional attacking speed, individual quality and greater variety before the transfer window closes. Our View – EPL Index / Anfield Index Analysis Endrick is the name that immediately catches the eye here. Liverpool supporters have spent much of this summer hearing about Barcola, Diomande, Minteh and numerous other attacking possibilities, but an enquiry for Endrick feels particularly interesting because of the potential upside. Real Madrid do not want to sell him. That part appears clear. Liverpool asking the question still matters. Diomande arriving for £120million adds another elite attacking player to an already crowded Madrid squad. Endrick needs meaningful football at this stage of his development and Liverpool can offer something very different. Iraola wants speed, intensity and forwards who can attack space aggressively. Endrick fits that profile extremely well. There would naturally be questions about whether Madrid would sanction a permanent transfer, a loan, or possibly a deal containing some form of future protection. Liverpool should continue watching the situation closely. Minteh feels more attainable, although £50million already represents significant money for a player with nine goals and eight assists across 66 Premier League appearances who is currently injured. Barcola remains the premium option and appears to be Liverpool’s principal target. Endrick, though, carries another type of fascination. If his route into Madrid’s team becomes increasingly blocked, Liverpool have already positioned themselves among the clubs paying attention. That could become important before the window closes.
