Among the names still on the Giallorossi management’s list is Jayden Oosterwolde, a 2001-born Dutch defender currently playing for Fenerbahçe. According to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, the Giallorossi have submitted an offer to Fenerbahçe for the Dutch defender. The expected deal is a loan with an option to purchase, a significant offer approaching €20 million. According to Nicolò Schira, Oosterwolde remains one of Roma’s targets. The Roman club had already made an initial approach to the player in June, but were unable to convert their interest into a deal that was likely to be finalized. The name of the former Parma player (who holds a 30% stake in the future sale) has recently come up again as a possible reinforcement for the defence. Oosterwolde can be deployed both as a central defender and on the left flank, a versatility that could prove particularly useful in Gasperini’s system.
