Although Sage did not specifically say Wharton is guaranteed to stay, he did hint that he is not going anywhere this summer, stating, “I don’t think now is the time to do that,” after being whether or not he has the potential to move to a big club. This is a blow for Real Madrid, who had been monitoring the Englishman for a long time. They were keen on a move as well, though Palace’s hefty valuation always held them back.
