Real Madrid set for clear out of squad players under Jose Mourinho
Real Madrid set for clear out of squad players under Jose Mourinho Real Madrid are set for some dramatic changes this summer, as they look to rebuild under Jose Mourinho following two seasons without major trophies. The Portuguese manager has requested a significant say in their transfer business this summer, and it seems that indeed will be the case. There has been plenty of talk over what names could arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Mourinho reportedly suggesting the signings of West Ham United star Mateus Fernandes and Manchester City’s Josko Gvardiol . An alternative to the latter is also Riccardo Calafiori, and with Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konate already on track to arrive, it seems clear he is focusing his priorities on the backline. It seems they were discussing exits as much as they were additions. It is reported by Cadena SER (via Caught Offside ) that Mourinho is set to tell Eduardo Camavinga, Franco Mastantuono, Brahim Diaz, Fran Garcia and Gonzalo Garcia that they are not part of his plans for the coming season. Should Real Madrid hang onto any of the five players? Photo by Fran Santiago/Getty Images It seems far more likely that Mastantuono will leave on loan in order to continue his development. In the cases of Camavinga and Fran Garcia, both would benefit for more game time and trust, but Brahim and Gonzalo may feel they deserve another chance for their contributions. In particular, the Morocco international has been a useful asset for Los Blancos, but it is true he operates best off the left side, where they have a plethora of resources. Gonzalo’s exit is likely related to the return of Endrick Felipe from his loan move.
