Harris facing long spell out with ruptured ACL
Gillingham winger Kadeem Harris is set to be on the sidelines for a prolonged period after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament. Harris was carried off on a stretcher in the 70th minute of the 0-0 draw at Fleetwood Town on Saturday after suffering the injury. The 33-year-old signed for the Gills in June and has started all three games for the club - two in League Two and one in the EFL Cup - this season. "Kadeem was one of our star signings in the summer window so to now be without a player of his calibre, quality and professionalism is a huge loss to the group," boss Gareth Ainsworth told the club website. "He will be sorely missed during this time but we wish him a full and speedy recovery and I have no doubt he will come back an even stronger character than he already is."
