The agreement was signed on Thursday morning at Barcelona’s offices, with representatives from both organisations in attendance. The ceremony was led by Rafael Yuste on behalf of Barcelona and Joan B. Agustí representing Olot. Focus on Youth Development In a statement released by Barcelona, the club explained that the partnership is designed to reinforce relations between the two institutions, with a particular emphasis on youth football development. The agreement will allow both clubs to work more closely together in identifying, developing and promoting young talent, while strengthening existing connections between their football structures. Yuste and Agusti Welcome the Partnership Speaking after the agreement was signed, Barcelona’s interim president Yuste highlighted the importance of supporting clubs that play a key role in youth development. “This agreement reflects Barça’s desire to continue working alongside clubs that perform an essential role in developing young footballers and transmitting the values of sport.” Olot president Joan B. Agusti also welcomed the partnership, emphasising the historical connection between the two clubs. “For us, this is both an honour and an exciting opportunity because our roots are closely linked to Barcelona. “We hope this agreement will strengthen our relationship, promote a football model based on developing local players and reinforce the sense of identity represented by the motto ‘Mes que un club’ .” The agreement marks another step in Barcelona’s efforts to strengthen relationships with regional clubs while continuing to support the development of young footballing talent across Catalonia.
