Millwall midfielder Luongo returns to action

[Getty Images] Millwall midfielder Massimo Luongo has made his long-awaited return from a serious knee injury. The 33-year-old has not played since rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in a Championship match against QPR in October 2025. Luongo played 45 minutes for Millwall's under-21s as they were beaten 4-2 at home by Huddersfield Town in their opening Professional Development League game of the season on Tuesday. He was replaced at half-time by Tristan Hamann-Chanes as he begins his quest to return to the Lions' first team. The Australian international signed a new one-year contract with Millwall earlier this month having initially been released at the end of last season. [BBC]
