Durham sign defender Brown Durham have completed the signing of defender Emma Brown on a permanent deal. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Wildcats this morning. The 24-year-old has signed on at Maiden Castle following a successful trial with Durham during the close season. Brown started her senior career in the FA Women’s National League system with Middlesbrough. She spent her youth with Boro before breaking into the senior team. In 2020, Brown opted to combine playing football with her studies in the United States. She represented Nova Southeastern University before transferring to Middle Tennessee as a senior player. She turned out for MT in the 2024 and 2025 seasons before returing to England to continue her senior playing career. On the international stage, Brown has previously represented England at Under-17 and Under-19 levels. After joining Durham, Brown said “It feels absolutely amazing, I’m really excited for the season. “It’s unreal to be back home. My mum and dad have already bought a season ticket. They’re so excited to come and watch week in, week out and I’m so excited to be back in the North East. “The fans are great and the atmosphere and environment – we want to keep pushing and win as many games as possible, and the fans definitely help with that.” Brown is Durham’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
