Marseille’s Quinten Timber nears Crystal Palace move

Marseille’s Quinten Timber nears Crystal Palace move La Provence understands that Quinten Timber (25) is nearing a move to Premier League side Crystal Palace. Timber only joined Olympique de Marseille in January. The versatile midfielder signed from Feyenoord in a deal worth €4.5m and quickly impressed, establishing himself as a key player. Ideally, he is a player that OM wanted to retain this summer, however, the club’s dire situation means that they are not in a position to resist approaches for any player. Timber didn’t play in Marseille’s opener against RC Strasbourg Alsace due to suspension, however, he has trained with his teammates this week. There is a chance, however, that he won’t still be at the club by the time OM visit AS Monaco on Sunday night. La Provence state that the Netherlands international is “very close” to a move to Crystal Palace. Further exits are expected at OM before the end of the window. Igor Paixao is also attracting significant Premier League interest. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
