Willem II set to sign former Dutch international from Panathinaikos Former Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena looks set for a return to the Eredivisie with Willem II. As reported by VI , the 31-year-old former Dutch international is set to join the recently promoted side from Greek top flight club Panathinaikos. Vilhena only played three games for the club last season and looks set to bolster Willem II’s midfield as the side look to avoid an immediate return to the second tier. Vilhena came through at Feyenoord as a youngster and went on to play 258 games for the club, scoring 41 goals. In 2019 he left Dutch football for Russia, joining Krasnodar. Vilhena spent a few seasons with Krasnodar, playing 79 games in total with nine goals. In the January of 2022 he moved to Spain, joining Espanyol on loan initially before making the move permanent that summer. After a season on loan in Italy with Salernitana, Vilhena joined Panathinaikos in the summer of 2023, going on to play 44 games for the club. During the 2024/2025 season he was loaned out to Turkish side Alanyaspor for six months, playing 15 times and scoring twice.
