Noah Atubolu extends Freiburg contract amid transfer talks
Noah Atubolu extends Freiburg contract amid transfer talks Noah Atubolu has extended his contract with Freiburg, according to Sky Germany . This decision is expected to open the door for a loan move away from the club, with Eintracht Frankfurt said to be interested in the goalkeeper. The contract extension runs until 2027 and is intended to keep the player from leaving the club on a free transfer. Atubolu was reportedly in a move to the English Premier League initially but is set to remain in the Bundesliga. Since Eintracht will not be able to afford the signing fee, the most likely scenario is a loan deal with an obligation or option to buy. Eintracht could yet sign Atubolu permanently should one of their goalkeepers, Kaua Santos or Michael Zetterer, leave the club. The 24-year-old keeper came through the youth ranks at Freiburg before playing regularly for the senior side during the 2023/24 season. He has made a total of 94 Bundesliga appearances for his club. Last season, he played in all 34 Bundesliga games and kept six clean sheets. He was also a key part of Freiburg’s run to the 2025/26 UEFA Europa League final, where they finished runners-up to Aston Villa. GGFN | Brook Genene
