Two clubs come forward in deal for Liverpool 22-year-old
Two clubs come forward in deal for Liverpool 22-year-old Liverpool’s summer transfer business is far from over. The Reds are chasing deals for at least two wingers - with Bradley Barcola and Yankuba Minteh high on the agenda. Richard Hughes will be leaving it late over that pair - with Paris Saint-Germain asking £120m or so for Barcola and Brighton expecting the Anfield side to pay £80m for Minteh. Outgoings too are inevitable - with the likes of Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa and Stefan Bajcetic being lined up for deals elsewhere. Clubs queuing up for Liverpool loans Liverpool also have decisions to make over the fate of several fringe and youth players. Plenty of talent could end up leaving on loan. The club are keen to see the likes of Jayden Danns and Keyrol Figueroa develop elsewhere while Luke Chambers is another one attracting interest. Chambers, 22, did a solid job during preseason under Andoni Iraola when he was pressed into service - scoring a goal for good measure. Blackburn and Pompey want Luke Chambers Given the strength the Merseysiders possess at left-back - with Milos Kerkez and Kostas Tsimikas in the pecking order - it makes sense for Chambers to find gametime away from base this season. Having spent the second half of last season on loan at Charlton Chambers is now wanted by TWO clubs in the Championship per a report in The News. Portsmouth are expected to come forward with a loan offer amid a selection crisis at left-back while Blackburn are also thought to retain an interest in the left-sided defender. Chambers tipped to sign Liverpool contract extension “Left-back is a priority position for the Blues due to the ongoing injury absences of Connor Ogilvie (knee) and Jacob Farrell (groin),” the report reads. “This has required right-back Zak Swanson to answer Mousinho’s SOS at left-back in the opening three matches. “The News understands Sheffield United full-back Rhys Norrington-davies is of interest at Fratton Park, with Pompey approaching the Blades of a potential loan deal. “Meanwhile, highly rated Liverpool talent Luke Chambers is also believed to be a wanted figure at left back, but does also have interest from Blackburn Rovers.” A previous report claimed that Chambers was set to sign a contract extension before heading out on loan - underlining the faith Liverpool have got in this bright young talent. For now his future is undecided but expect him to pitch up in the second tier before the window slams shut.
