Malick Fofana set to leave Lyon this summer

Malick Fofana set to leave Lyon this summer According to a report from L’Équipe , it is virtually impossible for Lyon to be able to keep Malick Fofana (21) during the summer transfer window after their failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. The Belgian international forward expressed his desire to stay at OL and play in Europe’s elite continental competition. With the forward’s wishes no longer possible and Lyon under pressure to raise their finances, a transfer before the window closes now looks inevitable. Had Les Gones qualified for the Champions League, this would have only increased their bargaining power and the value of Fofana. Lyon hoped to sell Fofana for €50m next summer With the 21-year-old hoping to stay put at the Groupama Stadium this summer had OL qualified, the Rhône club were planning an exit for next summer. The Ligue 1 club were hoping that, after a successful season with the Belgian attacker, they would be able to fetch a fee of €50m for his services. A much lower fee is now likely given their urgency to sell. Liverpool and Bayern Munich have previously been interested in the forward. GFFN | Liam Wraith
