It has now been reported that Manchester City are showing interest in Everton attacker Iliman Ndiaye. The Senegalese international could offer exactly what City need to replace Omar Marmoush. Manchester City could move for Everton attacker Iliman Ndiaye but they could face competition from Arsenal to sign him. Martha Riley has reported for TalkSport that Manchester City and Arsenal are showing an interest in a late move for Everton’s versatile, gifted and hard-working attacking asset Iliman Ndiaye. It is also reported that Everton value the Senegalese international at £80 million. It is also reported that Iliman Ndiaye almost completed a move to Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal earlier this summer. However, the move fell through. Lastly, Martha Riley reports that Ndiaye rejected a new contract offer from Everton earlier in the summer, meaning that he could be available this summer for the right price. Iliman Ndiaye could bring exactly what City need if they do pursue a move to sign the Senegalese international. If Manchester City want a player who is versatile to play across the front line to cover the loss of Omar Marmoush, Iliman Ndiaye could be ideal for that role. The Senegalese international can play on either wing or through the middle. He possesses exceptional dribbling ability and is always a threat in the final third. Ndiaye is a quality finisher and adept at creating goals for others. Ndiaye has scored 17 goals and added 4 assists in 73 appearances for Everton. Those numbers don’t jump off the page, but watching Ndiaye play, you do sense that his output would increase in a team that dictates the tempo of matches as Enzo Maresca’s side are expected to do. Also, Iliman Ndiaye is excellent out of possession and in a way he will always sacrifice his game for his team. Ndiaye is adept at tracking back defensively. He is similar to Palmeiras winger Allan in this regard. Perhaps City have a specific type of profile in mind to complement what they have in attack. Iliman Ndiaye could be a player that Manchester City bid to sign to bolster their attack. Ndiaye wouldn’t come cheap as Everton will likely demand top dollar so to speak to sell him so late in the transfer window. But it could be a move that provides great value for Manchester City given what Ndiaye could add to their squad.
