Lille manager Davide Ancelotti announced Newcastle target Matias Fernandez-Pardo exclusion from training ‘until the end of the transfer window’

Lille manager Davide Ancelotti announced Newcastle target Matias Fernandez-Pardo exclusion from training ‘until the end of the transfer window’ LOSC Lille manager Davide Ancelotti announced on Thursday that Matias Fernandez-Pardo (21) has been excluded from the first-team squad until the transfer window closes. “I have decided, in consultation with the club, that he will no longer train with the squad until the end of the transfer window,” the Italian announced at a press conference. “I am focusing on the players who are available for tomorrow’s match and who are training with us.” The Belgian, who has made it known that he wishes to leave LOSC this summer, will therefore not be involved in Friday’s home match against Paris Saint-Germain at the Décathlon Arena. With Newcastle United and Atlético Madrid reportedly interested, Fernandez-Pardo now hopes to secure a move before 1st September. However, under contract with LOSC until 2029, the Brussels-born player is reportedly valued at around €70m by the club’s management. This substantial sum is likely to dampen the enthusiasm of his suitors, who are nevertheless expected to continue their pursuit of his signature in the coming days. GFFN  |  Léo Aschi
