The breakdown of the solidarity payment will see Barcelona receive the largest share, with approximately €1.9 million heading to the Catalan club.  Furthermore, Porto are expected to receive around €560,000, while Valencia could collect €280,000. As such, Barcelona will receive their payment in the coming months. While €1.9 million may be a relatively modest figure compared with the headline value of the Newcastle transfer, it still remains a welcome sum for a club that continues to place significant importance on maximising every available source of income. According to the figures provided, the midfielder has now generated approximately €25.4 million for Barcelona through a combination of transfer fees and the latest solidarity mechanism payment. Barcelona initially received €8.5 million when Nico joined Porto. His subsequent move to Manchester City generated a further €15 million, while his transfer to Newcastle is now set to provide another €1.9 million. That makes Nico an increasingly valuable success story from Barcelona’s academy, even though his future ultimately took him away from the club.
