Zulte Waregem loan midfielder from Borussia Mönchengladbach with purchase option Zulte Waregem have announced that Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Niko Horvat has joined the club on loan. Horvat will join for the season, with Borussia Mönchengladbach and Zulte Waregem having agreed a purchase option on the midfielder. The 18-year-old only signed his first professional contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach in July of this year, having come through the sides academy. Should Zulte Waregem pick up the purchase option on Horvat, he will leave Borussia Mönchengladbach without having played a game for the senior side. Over the past few seasons he has played for the youth teams as well as Borussia Mönchengladbach II in the regional leagues. Last season he played four games in the regional league west for Borussia Mönchengladbach II, providing one assist. Horvat joins a Zulte Waregem side under Michael Beale that have surprised in three games so far, going unbeaten with two wins and one draw to start the Belgian Pro League season.
