Titans WR Wan'Dale Robinson evaluated for concussion after sustaining 'cheap' hit in joint practice with Bears

In hopes of helping 2025 No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward take a second-year leap, the Tennessee Titans gave their receiving corps a much-needed makeover this offseason. That facelift included signing former New York Giants wideout Wan'Dale Robinson to a four-year, $78 million deal . The Titans invested in Robinson, a Kentucky product coming off his first 1,000-yard receiving campaign. He’s now being evaluated for a concussion after Chicago Bears safety Xavier Woods reportedly laid Robinson out over the middle of the field during the teams’ joint practice in Nashville. Following practice, a reporter began asking Saleh a question about the blow Robinson suffered. “Obviously, the hit on Wan'Dale in this type of situation is,” the reporter started. Saleh filled in the blank bluntly. “Cheap,” the longtime defensive coach said . Although Robinson was reportedly able to get up and walk into the Titans’ facility under his own power, the hit understandably resulted in a scuffle. Wood notably played for the Titans last season. The 10th-year veteran was instantly confronted by Tennessee center Austin Schlottman and left guard Peter Skoronski, per Davenport. I don't encourage throwing punches or fighting or anything like that, but if cheap shots are taken on our guys, that’s unacceptable for us. It starts with us, starts with our group. Saleh was pleased with the way his players handled the situation and composed themselves in the aftermath. The Titans will host the Bears on Saturday in their preseason finale. "That's on like teach tape 101 in terms of what not to do in a thud practice and a thud period," Skoronski said of Woods’ hit, noting that he just watched the play again. "You can't have guys like Wan'Dale going down like that on hits that aren't necessary. I get we're being competitive. I get DBs are physical and stuff like that, but that's totally uncalled for in a practice setting like this.”
