Forrest aims to 'kick on' after derby impact

Alan Forrest hopes his prominent role in last weekend's derby victory can help ignite his Dundee career. The 29-year-old winger, who joined from Hearts this summer, marked his start by assisting Owen Bevan's goal as Dundee emerged with a 2-0 win at Tannadice. "That was my first start since coming in and I felt good," said Forrest. "The main thing is the team but it was good for me personally. "When I heard I was starting, I was buzzing just to get out there. There's no better way to make your first start than a derby. It was a good personal moment for me. "It's been good since I came here. The boys have been really welcoming and I felt pretty settled pretty quickly. "For me, it's just about getting minutes in and adding what I can to the team. We're all chipping in for the same goals and if I can add to that, that's what I'm looking to do. "I managed to contribute there at the weekend, so hopefully I can kick on from that." Dundee are in buoyant mood after winning two of their opening three league matches before Sunday's visit from Hibernian. "Everyone's buzzing after the weekend," said Forrest. "Obviously, the fact it was a derby game as well makes it a bit more special for us. We need to build on that and we're looking to win the next game.
