Brighton & Hove Albion appoint Ruiz as new head coach Brighton & Hove Albion have appointed Arturo Ruiz as their new head coach. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Seagulls this afternoon. The 29-year-old Spaniard replaces former Brighton & Hove Albion boss Dario Vidošić who left the club earlier today to pursue a new opportunity in the game. Ruiz is one of the brightest young coaches in the game. He started out coaching a reserve side at Atlético Madrid before being handed the opportunity to lead the first team for a short period. A spell in charge of Granada followed before Ruiz was appointed head coach of Real Sociedad in summer 2025. He guided ‘La Real’ to a third-place finish in the Liga F Moeve last season. After helping Real Sociedad push on in 2025/2026, Ruiz will now hope to recreate his achievements with new club Brighton & Hove Albion. After bringing Ruiz to Brighton & Hove Albion, the club’s women’s and girls’ managing director, Zoe Johnson said “We are delighted to welcome Arturo to the club. “During our recruitment process, he quickly stood out. He has a proven track record of developing teams and individuals. “We have confidence in his ability to continue to drive this team forward, and he will have our full support as we make our final preparations for the start of the new WSL season.” Ruiz will immediately start work at Brighton & Hove Albion with the new Barclays Women’s Super League season set to kick-off next weekend.
