Milan make contact for Nottingham Forest’s Omari Hutchinson in attempt to replace Rafa Leao
Milan make contact for Nottingham Forest’s Omari Hutchinson in attempt to replace Rafa Leao Serie A side Milan are set to part ways with Rafael Leao, who has now agreed to join Galatasaray. But with limited days to go for the summer transfer to slam shut, the Rossoneri are scrambling for a replacement and Nottingham Forest’s Omari Hutchinson is a possible target. Initially, the British press seemed sure of the interest. Now, the Italian media has covered the same. Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that initial contact has been made for the winger and Milan have enquired about the signing with Nottingham Forest. They have also made contact with Hutchinson’s entourage, as they attempt to lay the foundation of a transfer. Daniele Longo reports that contact has indeed taken place in the last 24 hours, which is a clear sign of Milan’s interest. While this may not be a superstar signing, it would be in line with how Milan recruit under Gerry Cardinale. The 22-year-old scored once and assisted seven times in his first Premier League campaign with Nottingham Forest last season. When playing in the English top-flight with Ipswich Town too, he showed glimpses of his raw quality and unpredictability. There is definitely a big move in him at some point but whether it comes already remains to be seen. Kaustubh Pandey – GIFN
