Altrincham 2-1 Halifax Town
National League Altrincham 2 - 1 Halifax Town FT Altrincham registered their first National League victory of the season by beating Halifax Town at the J. Davidson Stadium. Following three successive defeats, goals from Jimmy Knowles and returning captain Tom Crawford condemned Halifax, who replied through a Matthew Kosylo own goal, to a third loss in four. Visiting goalkeeper True Grant made a comfortable save from Sam Taylor while Connor Douglas shot straight at Owen Evans at the other end. But Knowles opened the scoring in the 16th minute when he was played through on goal and Crawford doubled Altrincham's lead in first-half stoppage time with a fine volley. Kosylo turned Owen Bray's cross into his own net with nine minutes remaining but Halifax were unable to find an equaliser. Match report supplied by PA Media.
