Julian Alvarez forced to accept Barcelona dream may never come true

Julian Alvarez forced to accept Barcelona dream may never come true Julian Alvarez has begun to accept that his dream of joining Barcelona will not become a reality, with Atletico Madrid standing firm against any possibility of selling the Argentine striker to their La Liga rivals, reports MARCA .  Alvarez’s situation at Atletico has become increasingly complicated in recent weeks, with Barcelona links adding further tension to an already uncertain spell for the forward.  The Rojiblancos have made their position clear both publicly and privately: they do not intend to transfer him to Barça . For Alvarez, a move to Barcelona had been viewed as his preferred destination, but that door now appears closed. The report suggests the striker is coming to terms with the fact that, should he eventually leave Atletico Madrid, a return to the Premier League may be his only realistic alternative.  For now, Arsenal have been mentioned as a possible destination, while Manchester City have now also entered the picture. The club is unwilling to entertain the possibility of strengthening Barcelona by allowing one of their key players to move directly to Camp Nou. That leaves Alvarez facing a difficult reality. His preferred move may not be available, regardless of how much speculation surrounds his future. Manchester City and Arsenal face €150m obstacle On that note, the Premier League could offer Alvarez an alternative route if he decides his Atletico Madrid future is elsewhere. For now, both English clubs face the same fundamental problem: Atletico Madrid’s valuation. The Spanish side is unwilling to negotiate a sale for less than €150 million, a figure that immediately makes any potential transfer a complicated proposition. There is also the question of Alvarez’s own preference. Despite the possibility of interest from England, the forward is reluctant to return to the Premier League, having hoped instead to remain in Spain by joining Barcelona, a dream which will not be fulfilled.
