Borussia Dortmund’s Konstantinos Karetsas impressed with Signal Iduna Park atmosphere on his Bundesliga debut
Borussia Dortmund’s Konstantinos Karetsas impressed with Signal Iduna Park atmosphere on his Bundesliga debut Konstantinos Karetsas (18) said he enjoyed the crowd in a full Signal Iduna Park after Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 win against Hamburg on Saturday. The Black and Yellows kicked off their Bundesliga season with an important three points, with the new signing playing a key role. Karetsas grabbed an assist on his league debut and put on a solid performance throughout. After the game, he stated that he enjoyed his first game in the German top flight. “I really enjoyed my first Bundesliga game. It was my first time playing in front of the Yellow Wall with all the fans! It was so loud. That was the best part for me today. During every significant play, we could hear the whole stadium. This is a new experience for me, and I’m incredibly grateful for it,” he told Sky Germany after the game. Karetsas had four shots in the game, of which three were on target. He also completed four out of his six attempted dribbles. The winger, who joined from Genk in the summer for €30m, continued his great pre-season form into the Bundesliga and hopes the team will improve in the coming games. “In the end, I lacked a bit of efficiency. I should have scored. We need to work on our efficiency as a team in upcoming games as well. We need to take it one game at a time now. With our fans behind us, anything is possible,” he stated.
