Now it has been confirmed that Stephen Mfuni will join Coventry City on loan for the 2026-27 season. Also, young centre-back Juma Bah looks set to head to Germany to spend this season out on loan with FC Augsburg. Two promising City defenders will now head out on loan but their prospects for the future seem vastly different. Stephen Mfuni has completed a loan move to Coventry City. Manchester City have confirmed that Stephen Mfuni has completed a season-long loan move to Coventry City. Mfuni will be joining Frank Lampard’s side, who have lost their first two games of the Premier League season and will seemingly be in a battle to stay in the Premier League this season. Mfuni will now get the opportunity to play in the Premier League if he can force his way into the Coventry City starting lineup. The doubt surrounding Mfuni’s future has been removed. Manchester City have a plan in place to further the young centre-back’s development. They’ll be hoping that he can get the minutes he needs to grow as a player as Mfuni does loom as a potential first team member at the FA Cup and Carabao Cup holders. Juma Bah is set to move to FC Augsburg on loan but his future likely lies away from Manchester City. It has also been reported that Manchester City will send Juma Bah out on loan to FC Augsburg. Fabrizio Romano reports that the imposing centre-back will head to Germany after spurning interest from clubs in Spain and Italy. Furthermore, Romano reports that FC Augsburg’s loan deal to sign Juma Bah includes a buy option. The buy option is worth over €20 million but isn’t mandatory. It doesn’t seem like Juma Bah has a long-term future at Manchester City. His imminent loan move to FC Augsburg will be his third loan move since he signed for City from Real Valladolid in January 2025. Bah looks like he will be sold eventually by City and if he has a successful loan spell in Germany, a move to FC Augsburg is on offer. Juma Bah is a promising young centre-back but it does seem like a role at Manchester City may be beyond him and that he will eventually be sold by City.
