They travelled to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen, and the gaffer Derek McInnes was fortunate to secure all three points against his former club, thanks to a spot-kick from Lawrence Shankland, followed by Kevin Nisbet’s disallowed equaliser late in the match. Ivor Pandur: 7.5 The Croatian maintained his concentration throughout the outing and made a couple of decent stops en route to registering his first clean sheet in the Premiership. Emmanuel Fernandez: 6.5 His no-nonsense clearances were crucial to ease the pressure, but he looked reluctant to make tackles, particularly during Nisbet’s equaliser before VAR ruled it out. But the former Sunderland star should have offered more in terms of breaking the play and carrying the ball forward from the deep. Cammy Devlin: 7 Was combative as a deep-lying playmaker, committing tactical fouls to frustrate the home side all afternoon. Completed the most passes in the match, thus helping the Light Blues script attacking transitions. Findlay Curtis: 7 Looked lively down the wide, but his efforts could not test Marius Muller in the Aberdeen goal. Worked extremely hard on both ends of the pitch before making way for Ben Godfrey with minutes remaining. Djeidi Gassama: 8 Made his presence known with his dribbles and directness. Operated from the left, but he often cut inside and also won the decisive spot-kick in the process. Had a few attempts from distance, which, however, were either blocked or went off-target. Kim Min-Su: 7.5 Was deployed as an attacking playmaker on his debut. The mega-money signing from Girona had three on-target shots denied by Muller. Was replaced by Yokota around the 72nd-minute mark. Lawrence Shankland: 7.5 No open-play goal yet from the veteran Scotsman, but he made no mistake from the spot, ensuring a massive victory after a dismal European run.
