However, there is currently no indication as to whether the attacking midfielder, who is under contract with the German club until June 2027, is regarded by the Black Cats as a priority target or as an alternative to Malick Fofana (21), should the transfer of the Olympique Lyonnais winger ultimately fall through. Having come through the FC Lorient academy, Claude-Maurice spent several seasons in France, at OGC Nice and RC Lens, before moving to Germany on a free transfer two years ago. Having quickly become a key member of the FCA squad, the 28-year-old has now made 61 appearances in all competitions for the club – scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists.
