Jaissle on Woltemade, deadline day and facing Bournemouth

Newcastle United boss Matthias Jaissle has been speaking to the media before Saturday's Premier League game against Bournemouth at St. James' Park (kick-off 12:30 BST). Here are the key lines from his news conference: Jaissle gave an update on Jacob Murphy and Joel Willock staying with the Magpies: "Yeah, I think now we have a well-balanced squad. The lads were doing good in the pre-season, they showed their quality. I think they still have potential to even do better and therefore we made a decision that this is the final squad." The Newcastle boss also spoke about Nick Woltemade joining Juventus: "I really appreciate Nick as a player for his quality on and off the pitch. So we had always good conversations, really honest conversations and he decided now to take another challenge in a top league with a top club." He added: "We will be monitoring him and looking and seeing him quite closely. I'm really curious how he's doing and I'm sure he will score a lot of goals there for sure. He's still our player, so therefore we will for sure stay in close contact." He said he was "happy to have Matias Fernandez-Pardo on board" and that he was happy with transfer deadline day business, calling it "an interesting last day". Jaissle on how he sees the transfer window as a whole: "Real clear idea on all the signings, a young squad in general. Young with huge potential. It's a brave way, but the way we want to go in Newcastle. We are fully committed to working with the lads." On spending during the transfer window, the Magpies boss said: "When you see the balance in what we spent and what we earned, it's interesting and it's a great step from the club. I think it's bringing the average age heavily down compared to last season, all these things are so consistent with our brave way for the future and that will be successful." On facing Bournemouth, he said "It will be the same idea of how we want to play football. This is independent of the opponent, we have a clear way, clear identity and I hope atmosphere will be the same, [just as] emotional, the same energy, definitely, even though the kick-off is a bit earlier, so I also need to adapt to that."
