Lincoln release defender Jackson
[Getty Images] Defender Adam Jackson has had his Lincoln City contract terminated by mutual consent, but will continue to train with the Championship side while he searches for a new club. The 32-year-old was told earlier in the summer that he would not be included in the Imps' 25-man squad this season, but he failed to get a move away before the transfer window closed. Jackson has been with Lincoln for six years and has featured 179 times across all competitions. His only appearance this season came in their Carabao Cup win at Blackpool in late August. Lincoln's sporting director Jez George said the decision to let the defender continue to train with the squad is because they "will do anything to help Jacko with what comes next in his career". "That shows the respect both parties have for each other," George told the club website. All the latest Lincoln City news
