PSG completed deadline day with no moves in or out, but there was one roster move made. The Parisians have cancelled the contract of Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches. Once the world’s highest rated wonderkid of his age, Sanches’ story has been a sad one. He’s bounced around all over Europe struggling to recapture anything like the form that saw him so well regarded. It’s reached the point now where PSG were happy to rip up his contract and let him walk away in search of a new club. After loan spells at Roma, Benfica and Panathinaikos, the former Lille man will find a new club and a fresh start. A return to Portugal would seem a sensible move. Amazingly, he has 32 caps for the national team. Benfica probably won’t be interested, but others in his native land and in France probably will be. In other news… PSG didn’t end up signing anyone on deadline day, but they did get linked with a player they might try to sign in January. One key player missing in this game was Ousmane Dembele, who has been given a week off and will return to training on Monday afternoon.
