After months of rumours about him wanting to leave the club and weeks of more specific chatter about a move to Aston Villa, Ibrahim Mbaye last night completed a deadline day to join the Villains for €55m. The talented young winger was in the process of breaking into the first team in Paris. After coming through the academy he had made 42 first team appearances, picking up 8 goal contributions and two Champions League winners medals in that time. But despite his growing importance, the prospect of continuing to be stuck behind the best front three in world football didn’t appeal to the Senegal international, who has been pushing all summer to get a move. Multiple reports have cited PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi as “key” to getting this deal done. PSG look to future after Mbaye departure Ibrahim Mbaye playing for PSG. He will want to get to work in the Premier League right away to prove all those doubters wrong. Meanwhile PSG have already moved on, with Maghnes Akliouche, Mika Godts and Ferran Torres all joining their attacking ranks this summer. In other news… PSG are also planning to tie down key attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to a new contract, according to reports from within the club. One move that PSG did end up making on deadline day was releasing Renato Sanchez, who heads off as a free agent to try and restart his career somewhere.
