Tomori returns to Milan training after surviving summer freeze-out England international Fikayo Tomori returned to training with Milan on Thursday after being frozen out of the squad by head coach Ruben Amorim for the last three weeks, as he did not secure a move away from San Siro by the end of the summer transfer window. Tomori back in training with Milan and could feature against Juventus Tomori was among a list of players that new Milan head coach Amorim decided were not going to be part of the plans for the 2026-27 season. He, along with the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Youssouf Fofana were put up for sale and have not been involved in first-team training since then. (Photo by Francesco Scaccianoce/Getty Images) Unlike Nkunku and Fofana, who joined RB Leipzig and Sevilla respectively, Tomori did not move away from Milan this summer, with reports that he was adamant he would only leave the club on his own terms. The former Chelsea centre-back had been linked with several Premier League clubs towards the end of the summer transfer window, including Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Coventry City. Ultimately, a move back to England did not materialise. Milan have since taken the decision to reinstate Tomori to the first-team group and according to the latest updates from Gianluca Di Marzio , he trained with the Rossoneri squad for the first time in several weeks on Thursday. (Photo by Marco Luzzani/Getty Images) There is growing speculation that Tomori could be involved for Milan’s upcoming Serie A match away against Juventus on Sunday evening given that Matteo Gabbia has been struggling with an ankle issue picked up in training earlier this week and has not trained for the last two days. Gabbia has appeared off the bench in the closing stages of  both of Milan’s first two matches of the Serie A season: A 2-1 win away against Torino and a 2-0 win at home against Venezia last weekend. Mario Gila, Koni De Winter and Strahinja Pavlovic are still expected to start in Amorim’s back three against Juventus this coming weekend.
