York Knights sign Wakefield full-back Jowitt
Max Jowitt has scored four tries in 13 appearances for Wakefield Trinity this season [swpix.com] York Knights have signed Wakefield full-back Max Jowitt on a two-year deal for the 2027 season. The 29-year-old made his Trinity debut in August 2014 aged 17 and has made 188 appearances for the West Yorkshire side to date. He worked under Knights head coach Mark Applegarth at both youth and first team level at Wakefield. "I'm buzzing for the opportunity to have a fresh start at a club like York, especially with the direction that the club is heading in," Jowitt said. Trinity head coach Daryl Powell told the club website: "Max has been a phenomenal player for Wakefield Trinity throughout his time at the club and has continued to be at the top of his game since I joined the club. "Sometimes in this game you have to make really tough decisions and those choices aren't always to say that someone is a bad player. This move is more about the evolution of the team that we have here at the club with some of the signings that we have already made ahead of the 2027 season."
