Official | Abakar Sylla leaves Strasbourg
Official | Abakar Sylla leaves Strasbourg Abakar Sylla (23) has left RC Strasbourg Alsace on a permanent deal, as confirmed by the Ligue 1 club on Friday night. Sylla joined Strasbourg from Club Brugge three years ago for a significant €20m fee. However, the defender never truly established himself as a reliable option under successive managers. He spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Nantes as the Loire-based club suffered relegation to Ligue 2. The Ivory Coast international (six caps) returned to Le Racing this summer but has not featured under new manager Hugo Oliveira. He has now completed a permanent move away from the Meinau. The defender has joined Gaziantep in the Turkish Super Lig. The fee has not been disclosed. Sylla is the third defender to have left Strasbourg this week. Soumaila Coulibaly also left the club to join Watford on loan, whilst Andrew Omobamidele also left on loan to join Anderlecht. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
