Vitor Matos' Swansea have lost only one of their past 12 league games stretching back to the end of last season [Huw Evans Picture Agency] Vitor Matos says there is more to come from Swansea City after they moved a point clear at the top of the early-season Championship table thanks to a goalless draw with Wrexham. Swansea were short of their best in possession but maintained their unbeaten start to the 2026-27 league campaign thanks to Lawrence Vigouroux's fourth successive clean sheet. The Swans have taken 11 points from five second-tier games in what has been an encouraging start to the season. But Matos believes there is progress to be made as his new-look squad contend with the packed Championship fixture list. "I think being consistent is massive, keeping the desire is massive. Not getting frustrated when the game gets a little bit different from what we want is massive as well," the Swansea head coach said. "It's important to stay competitive in the moment whatever the game, and I think we are showing that. "The next steps are to keep improving, keep using the squad. All the players need to be ready to make an impact from the bench or starting. That's what we want in terms of togetherness, building that type of culture. "We are doing that early in the season [but there are] a lot of things to come." Substitute Zan Vipotnik came closest for Swansea when he stretched to meet Moussa Yeo's cross but shot straight at Wrexham keeper Anthony Patterson. While Swansea failed to win, the draw maintained momentum for Matos' team, with the home crowd singing about being top of the league at full-time. When asked about the fans' chants, Matos said: "It's always nice, of course, but we also have the humility to understand the situation, knowing that there's a lot to come. "We should focus on this process - training, improving, and then being ready for the next game."
