Lucas Digne’s start to life as a PSG player has not gone well. It actually began long before his actual return to Paris. Days after the deal was announced, the full back gave away a crucial penalty in France’s game against Spain which ultimately played a huge part in his country’s exit from the World Cup. Things haven’t got much better since. He was left out of PSG’s squad to face Monaco on Friday night for sporting reasons. Luis Enrique is already unhappy with his standards and his effort level. But it was important to have a good backup for Mendes, and there are now serious doubts about whether PSG have that. Hopefully with time the former Barcelona man’s form will improve and he can be integrated properly. Otherwise the Parisians might be heading back into the transfer market sooner than expected.
