Free agent striker Jamie Vardy joins new club amid Everton rumors
Jamie Vardy is back in English football, though he's not latched on to Premier League side Everton as speculated this week. Vardy, who turns 40 in January, is back in the Championship, where he's signed a deal with Burnley through the end of this season. "This club has a proper footballing history and passionate fans who deserve a team that represents them and their town," Vardy said. "I can’t wait to get going on the pitch and help the team move in the right direction.” Vardy played from Cremonese in Serie A last season, scoring seven times with three assists in 29 Serie A matches. Burnley is about 50 miles from Vardy's childhood home of Sheffield.
