Player Ratings: Juventus 1-1 Milan – Italians in the spotlight Players coming off the bench made the difference for both Juventus and Milan tonight as Alphadjo Cisse and Federico Gatti scored a goal each, while Samuel Chukwueze and Teun Koopmeiners provided the assists in a 1-1 draw. Koopmeiners had a great impact, aside from his assist to Gatti. The defender played as an added striker and netted the equaliser in the stoppages. Lowest Juventus rating: Kalulu and Kolo Muani 4.5 – Kalulu struggled both with and without the ball. His first touch was often poor, which negatively impacted the Old Lady’s build-up play. He failed to shield Cissé when the Italian talent scored the opening goal. Kolo Muani was never really a threat to the Milan defence. Nullified by De Winter in the air, on the ground, everywhere. Coach: Spalletti 6 – Gave Alajbegovic his first start of the season. The start was good, but Juventus lost confidence as the game progressed, unable to hurt Milan in any way and missing almost every final pass. They had the best chances before the Milan goal, but their reaction was quite weak. In a very tactical match, he did the only thing possible to unlock the defence: dribble past the opponent and shoot. A beautiful and heavy goal, perhaps the most important of his career so far. Maignan made two big saves in the first half. Lowest rating: Rabiot 5 – The former Juventus midfielder did not impress in his first start this season. He typically performs best when given space to run, but tonight there was very little, resulting in many inaccurate passes in tight spaces. Coach: Amorim 6.5 – The game plan was nearly perfect. He probably surprised Juventus with a conservative approach, focusing more on covering all the spaces at the back than on trying to hurt Juventus. He got the substitutions right and almost completed the job, but Gatti’s goal ruined his night.
