D’Amico-Percassi incident to be investigated by Prosecutor’s Office Roma-Atalanta didn’t end at the final whistle. Tensions continued in the tunnel and later in the Monte Mario stand, where particularly heated exchanges erupted between Nerazzurri CEO Luca Percassi and Giallorossi sporting director Tony D’Amico. The two clubs’ versions of events remain divergent. According to Roma, D’Amico was the victim of a verbal assault by Percassi, while Atalanta provided a different account of the incident. Yesterday, both clubs released their respective official statements. Roma strongly defended its manager: “The Club deems the behavior of Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi toward one of its own managers unacceptable and emphasizes the correctness demonstrated by D’Amico, who avoided any reaction.” The matter could now move to the sports justice system. As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, federal inspectors were not present when the events occurred, but Federal Prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné will evaluate the available evidence. The plan is to open a file and interview the key players in the case directly, to try to reconstruct what happened after the match at the Olimpico. The first steps will begin today: witnesses who were present during the tense moments will be interviewed. Their reconstructions could therefore prove crucial in shedding light on an episode that, two days before the match, continues to fuel the tension between Roma and Atalanta.
